One rainy night, a little old dwarf walked. He was tired and hungry. The wind blew and the rain fell. He saw a big, pretty house. He knocked on the door. People were having fun inside. No one opened the door.

He went to many other big houses. He knocked and knocked. But no one helped him. Everyone was too busy.

At the village end, he found a cottage. Its door was open. He went inside.

"Come in, friend," said the Old Man. The Old Woman gave him food. She gave him a warm drink. They let him sit by the fire.

"Eat some more," said the Old Woman. She gave him more food. The Old Man added wood to the fire. He wanted the dwarf to be warm.

The dwarf was full and warm. "Thank you," he said. "But I must go now."

"Stay here tonight," said the Old Man. "You can sleep here."

"No, thank you," said the dwarf. "I must go to the town." He asked for directions.

"Good luck!" said the Old Man.

"God be with you!" said the Old Woman. The dwarf walked into the rainy, dark night.

The next morning, the big village was gone. Only the small cottage was still standing. It is called The Dwarf's Inn today. Being kind is good. Being selfish is bad.

On täällä olkia sinullekin", sanoi ukko.

"Onnea matkallesi!" sanoi ukko.

"Jumala seuraasi!" huusi vaimo.
